anyone know a better way to unlock the CPU besides the pencil trick? I really don't wish to solder it either

I used the rear window defogger repair kit and it works wonders , its more of a permanent solution ,the pencil trick wore off on me

rear window defogger or conductive pen are definatly the way to go, but im not sure that that is your problem. We need more info, what mobo do you have? hsf? Vcore setting? VIO setting? fsb and multiplier?
