You could get clamps cheaper from the hardware store probably. Metal screw hose clamps are far better, as long as you do not overtighten them and crack your barbs.

Yep go to local hardware stores and pick up the metal ones instead. Tighten them enough to apply some pressure onto the hose but not too tight that they cut into it. Mine I just tightened as much as I could with a screwdriver and they work fine, so long as you don't go overboard and use a wrench/motorised mechanism should be fine

Just use a reasonable amount of pressure is all, don't put your weight into getting them tight, use your wrist.

screw till you can't move them and add about 1 twist. Just reasonable force is needed. I have tendention to damage hydraiulics because of too much force used, so that's solution which I use not to mess things up :)

basically make it so there's no way that the sucker is gonna leak or pop off. you don't want to cut into the tubing, though. Find the happy medium...:cool:
