For those of you who own an asus a7a266 motherboard & athlon 1.2 fsb266...what's the best overclocking you succeed? I can do no more than 1400 (10.5x133@1.8V).

check the CPU database on the front of this site

yes but the database is not genious...nobody indicates his motherboard, bios, ram etc.
The max I can go is 1476 (10,5x140@1,775V). Everything bigger is not stable.

dj, I don't have your board..or even processor for that matter, (I have three overclocked Ghz T-birds) but I think that it may be temperature that is holding you back.
Try reading Ed's article on the front page. It explains much concerning temperature reporting.
What is your highest stable clockspeed? Is it 1400Mhz or 1476Mhz?
At these clockspeeds a more robust HSF than the PAL 6035 is typically required.

Well, Thats the same cpu and motherboard I'm planning on buying. I'm running watercooling so I'm hoping for atleast for 1450mhz but I think I'll get more. But as we all know all cpu's are different! I'll be running Micron PC133 SDRAM for now untill I get some extra cash to buy some corsair PC2400 cas2 DDR.
Hopefully I'll be ordering the board and cpu by this wednsday. This PIII 800 and Abit BE6-II is getting old!

Thank you for your answers.
My DEFINITIVE stable combination is 1412 Mhz (as indicated on MBM5 under w2k), 10,5x133@1.75. It hardly tested everything else, after some hours the system halts. at 1411 its OK. The temp at 1411 is 41c idle 45 full load, so I think it's not a temp problem (?). It may be the ram cause when I push it the system reboots. Anyway i'll read the ed's page soon...
