well, my duron makes nice things on 900. with 1.75v, it runs hours long perfectly. then it simply freezes (totally, the cursor doesn't move, only reset button helps.) this comes often with internet explorer 5, when i surf... could it be an ie bug?
so, now i'm on 850, with 1.675v, this error never came out again.
i flashed my abit kt7's bios to zt, the newest version. this caused only one thing: the shutdown time is now a few seconds more, and the "windows is shutting down" screen appears on my screen, with older bioses shutdown goes so fast, that this screen never appears!
when i enable the c2p/p2c setting, some applications, running them together, freeze my system. (for example, wintv2k tv application from hauppauge running in the background, and aida32, when i start it, crashes!) why? any ideas? what's this setting? cpu to pci concurrency and vica versa? or what?
i have a globalwin fop32, and i reach the 50-51C, full load, 900MHz, 18-20C roomtemp. others reporting, that they run on over 1 gig, and 35-40C only. how is that possible?! i have polished the contact surface on the heatsink, i use thermal grease, the fans and the sink are dust free, i have tons of extra case fans, and it's still so warm! and the case temp is 30-31C!
to be exact, i must say, that i modified the position of the thermal resistor on the board, i raised it a bit to touch the bottom of the cpu. normally, it's 1-2 mm under the bottom of the cpu. can that be the reason of the higher temp?
do you know anything about the vanta's overlay capabilities? my tv card refuses to run in overlay mode! i found some reg settings to help, but then, in overlay mode, is much slower, then in push mode. why?
i live in germany now, and here the cpu prices are terribly high!!! for example, an older 1ghz athlon with 100/200mhz fsb costs ca. 175 us$!! i found that the new 133/266mhz version costs 99$ in the usa! but the shops don't ship internationally. can anyone help?
can my config handle this processor? i can raise the fsb up to 133 mhz.
is the geforce3 so cheap over there? :)
finally my config:
abit kt7 bios zt, duron 750 (8.5x100), 2x128mb noname sdram pc133 cl2, gw fop32. vanta
hey, thanks for the patience, and help!

As a matter of interest my Duron 800 became unstable at 52 c on the zt bios and It only seems to work correctly with the ww bios that it was shipped with. Moving the thermal resister so that its closer to the CPU will change the temprature recorded and as such you have no comparison with other users, although the case temprature suggests that its on the warm side as my Duron 800 has never ever reached a case temprature of 30-31 c in all the time ive owned it
You should be running a 133 mhz FSB as you have PC133 memory and this overclocks the complete system and not just the CPU.
