Hi guys. A couple of days ago I ordered a new psu for my vapochill system. I ordered the EG651P-VE but they brought me the EG651P-VE (24), which is the workstasion-server model. There are adaptors inside the box to use with my pc, but are they any other differences apart from this? Should I send it back and ask for the other model?

They didn't supply the one you asked for, so send it back :)

The 24-pin ATX connector is basically a 20-pin with an extra 2 12v lines and 2 ground lines attached. The adaptor just removes the extra 4 pins.

The adaptor increases the number of electically resistive connections and the total length of wire between the PSU and your motherboard, which under high load can lead to more voltage drop.

As I can see the wire that goes on the motherboard is relatively short compared to other psus. If I add the adaptor then it becomes just normal (concerning the size). I am just thinking that it will take them another 3 days to deliver it so if it's the same or almost the same then i would probably keep it. Whats the difference I may see in the under-load voltages?

From what the Enermax site says, the two units seem to be identical except for the different connectors.

Keep it dude.... as far as I know. most of server PSU have longer lifespan (MBTF) than normal PSU. It has higher rated components inside in order to survive longer lifespan.

Nevermind with adaptor as long as the voltage is good.
