My system specs:

-Abit KT7-RAID
-amd thunderbird 1gigahertz
- alpha cooler (Alpha PAL6035 V2 w/ Sunon)
-256 meg pc133 ram
- 1 stick of generic ram ( 128 )
- 1 stick of crucial ram ( 128 )
-2 western digital 20GB ata 100 7200 rpm drives
- running raid level 0
-sb live value
-creative labs 3d annihilator 2 geforce 2

Problem:

Ok in my bios my the cpu fsb/pci clock is set to 100/33, i have pc133 ram, shouldnt it be set to 133/44?? i try to change it to that but when i save settings and restart my machine will not start up. Also in the same soft menu 3 settings, the multiplier factor does nothing to change the clock speed of the chip. Its default setting is 1 gig, but if i set it to 11.5 or 12, it still runs the chip at 1 gig. I also have a setting called cpu fsb plus. Its default is 0, ranging from 0-28, but if i change it to 10, i get 1100 mhz, AND IT DOES RUN AT 1100, unlike the multiplier which does nothing. This is odd that the multiplier doesnt change the speed of the chip but this cpu fsb plus setting does. The other strange thing to me is that the fsb/pci clock ,even with the default settings on chip speed (1gig) the 133/44 setting will not allow the computer to boot up. I would highly appreciate comments on this "strange to me" problem.

hey man the reason your fsb is set to 100 is because you have a 200 mzh fsb processor and that is ddr so its double the setting in your bios 100 x 2=200 there is a setting in there that says ram clock set it to host+pci witch will be 133 at default more as you increase your fsb/pci clock and the reason you can't change your mulitiplier is because it is locked from the factory however if you take a pencil and connect all the bridegs on the L1 protion of your processor you can make adjustments to the multiplier there are plenty of sites that tell you how to do this read them b4 you attempt it. as with all overclocking there are risks and you should be aware of them and i take no responsibility if you over do it and burn your stuff up but i hope i have helped
take care man and take it slow

Your cpu fsb speed is not the problem here. The KT133 chipset on the KT7 can only support up to a 110mhz bus and nothing higher. That is why Via introduced the KT133A which supports up to a 166mhz fsb.

thanks for the info william i hadn't realized the limit was 110 that is probably why i can't get my 1 gig to go over 1.1 gig cool i may try adujsting the multiplier now. thanks agian
