I have a ASUS P4C800-E-DELUXE motherboard.

My proccessor is a P4 3.0 ghz w/ 800 mhz FSB

I went to the Bios and set the FSB to 234 wich made my proccessor run around 3.5 GHZ.

Now here is the problem.......

My memory in bios is set to AUTO.

When i over clock my memory reads as 266 DDR instead of 400 DDR.

I tried to set the setting of my memory manually but my system ends up hanging .

Why is my memory doing this?

MY SYSTEM SPECS:
EXOS WATER COOLED SYSTEM
P4C800-E DELUXE
P4 3 GHZ
1 GB KINGSTON HYPER X DDR 400 MEMORY
RADEON 9800 PRO 256 MB
SOUND BLASTER AUDIGY PLATNIUM 2

THANK YOU ,

I really appreciate the help.

234 FSB is DDR 468 speeds--WAY beyond what your memory can handle. The motherboard knew this, and set your memory to a setting it could handle automatically.

For a speed like that, you need PC3700 memory. Even then, it'll be running above spec by a little bit.

Set the FSB/RAM speed divider to 5:4.
