Adding RAM

Hey I'm trying to install some more RAM to my computer and when I put the RAM in and turn my computer on I get this long beep about every 3-4 seconds. At first the harddrive lights is on and then it just goes off and the beeping goes on. When I take the RAM out everything works fine. Is it a bad stick of RAM?

You need to post some system spces as well as what two brands, model #, speed, etc. of both ram sticks before an opinion can be made.........

yea we definietly (sp?) need more info. does the ram light come on?
