I'm seriously considering buying a new case and a new HSF. Currently I'm using the stock piece of crap that I got with my AMD T-Bird(900). My case is a midsized tower which is like a greenhouse.

My system specs are as follows:

AMD T-Bird 900
Asus A7V KT133 Mobo
384MB PC133
ProphetII GeForce2 PRP/GTS 64mb DDR
Running WinME

Alright, I'm looking for a large tower case with plenty of room to expand, a removable mobo tray. Basicly, a good overclockers case, as I am really taking an interest in it. My current PSU is 300watt. What wattage should I be going for? Also, I would probably be adding intake/exhaust fans anyway, so if there are any that are pre-built and cheap...that would be great.

As for HSF's, I'm considering Millennium Glaciator and the Global Win CAK38. I'm aiming for less than 50$. Also, I need one that is easy to install because I'm kinda paranoid about cracking my CPU, since I've only installed one HSF before. (I'm a newbie! ok?)

Sooo, what would you guys recommend? Any feedback is welcome!

There are a few good cases out there, but it all comes down to $$$. A good way to look at it is how far you plan on taking your current processor? Are you going to throw down the gauntlet and run that baby at 1500mhz +? There are tons of sites out there that offer pre-modded cases for those who don't want the hassle of doing it themselves. www.coolerguys.com is a good place to start.

Also, a very, very good hsf is the Thermalright SK-6. All copper with a Delta 60mm. Loud, but that's something you tend to have to deal with at the higher speeds unless you go liquid cooling. I'm running one right now and the temps are awsome for a snap-on cooler. Not as good as my Swiftech, but damn close!

Hope this helps a bit!

Nah, I'm not looking into OC that far...just yet. Mabey later I'll consider it, but right now I just want to get it over the 1ghz mark and a little more. I'm fairly interested in doing the modding myself...but If I see a good deal for a case thats pre-modded I'm all for it.

Thanks for your help

When I upgraded my stuff I got a

Lian Li PC-10 Aluminum case (nicest friggen case I have ever worked on), and I have built thousands...

And a FOP32-1 HS/F. Not the greatest, but certainly good enough for up to about 1.4. When I get a faster Athlon than my 1.133 @ 1.266 then I will likely get a better HS/F, but these cases rock! Oh by the way I got my Lian Li Case for only $169 CANADIAN. A store in town here where I live does a brisk business with buying in bulk and they bought a lot of these cases and from what I understand they are selling them for the same price as many US stores are. The website address if any of you are interested is. www.memoryexpress.net. Keep in mind you have to pay shipping but you could save a bunch of cash because $170 Canadian is like $110 US.

well unless you have a bunch of hard drives or cd-roms or something then 300 watts is usually enough, but otherwise a 431 watt enermax would be a good choice. Im not sure about a case, but the OCZ Gladiator is a good hsf for 30 bucks.

I'm fairly sure I've decided on the Millenium Glaciator as my HS/F and the InwinQ500 as my case, which I will be adding an intake or two as well as possibly an exhaust.
