Hello...From AMD Land!!!! :)

YeeeHaaaaaw. Got my first AMD system crankin' last night...man work always get's in the way. Got a smokin' 750 Duron...did some FSB tweaking last night and hit a Gig at 1.7volts!!! See results here:

I'm running an Abit KT7A-Raid and have not had any problems but I decided to go w/ a Hercules sound card instead of Creative. Here's my specs:

Abit KT7A Raid (not running Raid)
Duron 750@1000 (AKCA, Blue Die)
Maxtor 40Gig HDD
3D Prophet 4500 (Kryo 2)
Hercules MuseXL Sound Card
128Meg PC133
GlobalWin CAK38

The Kryo 2 card is great but does not like to run too far out of AGP spec. Not a big deal if I'm hittin' 133FSB eh??? I can't get over the performance of the Duron. It's makin' my PIII 850 look weak. Gotta get some more memory but man this system rocks. Just wanted to say thanks to all who replied to my questions. I'm sure there will be more to come.

*******!! j/k what is the code on that bad boy? I got mine up to 966 but no higher! does it always boot cold? you might have problems but sounds like you got a nice chip.

So far I have not tried to boot cold to 1G. I just got the board last night so I need to do some research...not so familar w/ all the BIOS options for AMD chips. Gonna take all the numbers down tonight...doh! should have done it before I mounted the HSF. I know the code letters are AKCA though. Looks as though the AKCA's are as good as the AKBA chips. I'll let you know what the entire code is as soon as I get it.

Wish I had me one of those 'nice' durons - mine would 'only' reach 918 before the volt mod (still over 50% oc, shouldn't complain I guess!). I'd love to see what it'd do watercooled and running 2.3V... care to try? :-D
