first thing cool sys ,i wish it was me
i have a few questions

Is my multiplier supposed to be locked at 14 i can adjust it in the bios but still says 14 when booting.
what temp is cpu supposed to be.At idol about 31,fullload 48,If it goes much higher is crashes is it the temp or not?
what is burning in your cpu all about?
i can get to 1540 but not stable,thats 14*110
i should be able to get to 1.6 ghz

My system specs:
-Abit KG7-RAID
-AMD Athlon T-bird 1.4GHz .But guaranteed to 1.6ghz+ lol
-thermalright sk6 heatsink,YS-TECH FD6025 60mm fan
-corsair 256 pc150 cas-2
-ibm 60gxp 61.5gb udma100
-creative soundblaster live! platinum 5.1

You won't be able to change the multiplier settings until you unlock the multiplier on the CPU itself. This involves taking it off of the motherboard and penciling in some traces on top of the processor. See the How-Tos on the start page. This will get you on your way.

Also, unless I'm sadly mistaken, your multiplier is in fact locked on 10.5, as opposed to 14. AFAIK, the only 1.4 GHz Thunderbirds that are available run on a 133 MHz Front Side Bus, not a 100 MHz Front Side. Therefore, 10.5 * 133 = 1400. That's an awfully nice board, btw!

I've never in my meager experinece seen a motherboard even support a 14x multiplier - I've seen 12.5 on most any board and 13 on boards that support the 1.3 GHz Thunderbirds (the fastest I've seen on a 100MHz FSB), but never 14! I suppose I may still need some help here, too, then! lol!

Either way, if you correctly unlock the processor, you are almost certain to be able to get 150 MHz out of the FSB out of that board as long as you can get the multiplier low enough - the AMD 761 chipset is a good one. Good luck and hope my rambling helps until someone with more experience can reply.

Hi

The pencil trick is where you use a pencil to connect your L1 bridges on your CPU, allowing multiplier adjustment.

When AMD released the 1.4Ghz cpus, they had 2 different types. One with the 266 Fsb, and the other with 200Fsb. They did this so the ppl with boards that only supported the 200FSB would still be able to upgrade to the new cpu.

This is totally off topic, but: the KG7-RAID has just been released. Isn't it a bit early to be praising the board as the greatest thing since sliced bread?
