I picked up the new Swiftech pump today and the first thing that stood out, (beside how sweet it looks) is it's small size. Here's some comparison shots:

This pump really moves alot of water for being so small. It's a perfect ballance between head, flow and heat. The only thing is the 4 pin connector is'nt designed for an external design. This can be overcome by lengthing it with an extender or soldering a longer tail onto it. As for temps I was at 27C using Nanotherm PCM+. This time I went with Shin Etsu, which is at 28/29C. Due to the longer cure time of my current TIM it's safe to say there was a decrease in temps. The temps are gathered by Asus Probe and a thermal sensor on my Enermax A5 affixed to the chip with thermal tape beside the die. Not 100% but all I have to go on.

Me too, might get this instead of that Iwaki...

The grey inserts are plugs used for shipping. 1/2" ID 3/4" OD tubing slides over the barbs. Their great pumps.:D

Yah I figured that. Hmmm if I may ask how much did the cascade cost w/ shipping?
How about a comparison of flow rate through your system? Did you happen to measure it with the Mag3?
The swiftech sure is compact.

whats the GPH and cost of that pump??
Looks pretty sweet

its $80 bucks and 160gph. Im still a little reluctant about this pump. Still waiting for more people to comment on it. If its worth it, i'll sell my eheim 1250 and look into it. I think i read somewhere that people were returning it coz the thing gets loud after a while.
How loud is it running in your system now? Compared to the mag?
It's only loud for the first couple of days, Bill has said this on few forums, I never really noticed that it was loud from the beginning. It is nowhere near a via1300 if that tells ya anything, its a real nice pump, so much that I just might get another :)

I think the Mag3 has better preformance though, yet its not plug and play like the Swifty.

The Cascade was $100 shipped when I got it in July. The noise leval of the pump is quiter than the Danner which was'nt very loud itself. Here's a real world flow chart that pHaestus put together at Procooling:

These are the specs from Swiftechs site:

I like the way it looks, but how does it perform? I have a dying Eheim 1250 in my hands and Im wondering if this would be a worthy follow up. Any comments?

what is the 'head' mentioned in the chart? (im a newb at this so bear with me) and does this put the mag 3 or the mcp600 on top with performance?

The head is about 10.5 I think. It's better than the mag3/1250 for a few reasons IMO;
-Lower heat output.
-Great head pressure/flow rate for water cooling.
-Small size/less noise.
It seems more comparable to the Iwaki MD-15R minus the cost.

i think we should wait to see how it holds up reliability wise. No use in a great performing pump if it dies within a couple months. Other than that, if it werent for the price, id jump all over it.

Yet another draw on the 12V rail... :\

Oh come on! It's just 9 measly watts! Your PSU is under-utilized anyway ;)
My 300watt antec is giving all its got :D

Dying 1250, that's not something you hear everyday. If you check the
link (http://www.procooling.com/users/phaestus/pqcurves.jpg) cypher pointed to above you'll see a comparison chart w/ both the 1250 and mcp600.

Who many GPH are you using and temp? If you have tried other pumps post the GPM, temp, and waterblocks.
