I am new to AMD after using intel and heard of a GFD device for o/c on slot processors. What is it and what does it do?

It was a small PCB with dipswitches that attached itself to slot 1 Athlons so that the multiplier could be changed. Do a search on any engine and tons of links will come up. ...Uh...did I just fall for the ol Silent Bob trick?

I do highly recommend to use a GFD when overlclocking Slot Aīs. Those CPUīs donīt like high FSBīs at all. So get yourself a nice GFD, and start upping the multiplier. Worked great for me.
Nice to see, that there are still people out there who are going for the classic Ahtlons..
Good Luck
