While looking around I have found some places that sell trace tape which will connect the L1 bridge so you can overclock your athlon. Problem is it costs $24 for a pack of three. Awful expensive for such a little thing. So I was wondering if anyone has a single one to sell or knows where to find another way of doing it. The pencil trick is a bit annoying, though I have gotten it to work. I have thought about the conductive pen, but this tape thing seems a lot less messy and safer.

Here's where I found it in case you are not sure what I'm talking about.

use the pen with a toothpick! I would avoid the hassle if you don't have the chip yet and get a 1.2gig 266fsb for 121 shipped from newegg.com. also the pen is only 11bucks shipped from radioshack web only! you can do like 10,000chips the tape is single use!

I've heard of a lot of people having problems getting the trace tape to line up - it's much harder to manipulate than a drop of conductive paint. Try it if you like, but I'd rather use the paint or pen on my chips :-D

Sounds kinda pricy and not too much easier. I think im gonna stick with the defogger kit. You just cant beat the price, and its easy to get and not that hard to apply. Just remember stay away from the pencil. It doesnt last sometimes and takes about 4 trys to work.

I heard people had problems applying them, plus for that price i dont think theyre worth it. Theyre pretty tiny from the looks of them and its youve got fingers like mine you'd be in trouble.

btw Rob-Cool animation.

Why not using pencil trick. It is free by all means. I did the pencil trick on my duron 800@1028mhz for almost six months now and no sight of failure. Why waste money for nothing.
24 dollars for that tape is a good joke.
