Will 3200 work in my mobo ?

I have a a7n266-vm, with 256Mb of PC2100 in it. Asus state that this board supports up to PC2100 Ram, will PC3200 work in this board i need to buy another 256Mb stick and some time in the future will upgrade the board, making full use of the 3200 Ram ?

Basically i dont wont to buy a stick that is useless right now but if i buy another 2100 stick it will be a waste for future use AFAIC.

yes it should work in there its the same kinda ram just rated at higher speeds

If it works in your mobo youll only get full use of it getting 200mhz FSB and for a kt266 thats very hard to do.

he wanted to upgrade to faster mem for when he upgrades his motherboard so he dont have to go out and buy more ram later on

so its better if joeytt save some more money and buy mobo and mem together

well that would be in idea but he isnt upgrading both yet so he just wanted to know if he buys faster ram will it run
