if its important, the mobo that ill be using MSI K7T Turbo-r with a 450wat PSU ** dule fanned **

well the choice for M/B is a fine one!!. My choice for a chip is a 1ghz AXIA, or an AVIA with a letter on the 2nd line of the code, both of these chips will most likely go to 1450mhz on that board depending on your other hardware. Also do not skimp on the heatsink/fan combo, spend any extra money you have on the best you can get. good luck man, any help you need on that board, just hollar, it is the same as mine, but I am raid-free.
