being into car audio made me look for cheap alternatives to dynamat. in my search i found a product refered to as peal n seal . this is just as good as dynamat but it has a lower melting temperature. this stuff is 13$ per 13 sqft while dynamat cost upward f 20$ for 4 sqft. i used it in my car and had a lil left and decdied to use the rest in the computer. the difference is noticable and i didn't even use that much. u guys acan find it locally at lowes, it should be in the roofing section. great stuff

Did this affect your temps much?

Yes, it would heat up the case if your airflow wasn't optimized. Easy to avoid by equalizing intake and exhaust.

it's basically tar w/ aluminum backing, the aluminum side faces up so i don't know if it asorbs the heat , refeclts it or what. my temps have actually dropped since i added it, but i've only had it on for a couple hours. i just put on my slk900 and i didn't reallyl keep track of temps too well b4 i put the peal n seal on . i don't think the increase would be noticble. i seems like the aluminum would act as a heat sink and cool evryhting off w/ optimized airlofw likw fats mentioned but i'm no coolologist

Since its an aluminum sheet with "tar" behind it, it acts as an insulator, keeping the heat inside the case. Good to know your're getting good temps still though.
