View Full Version : 11x or 13x fsb
I have a athlon xp 2400 chip Im running it on a asus a7n8x delux motherboard. My question is I can overclock my chip at 11x 202 or 13x 171 either way I get the same overclock results [2.23ghz]
What is better 11x multiplyer or 13x multiplyer ? Thanx for any help
given the same mhz speed, it is always better to have higher FSB and lower multi.
That is, as long as your ram is running at the same speed as your FSB. I can up my FSB to 200, but my ram won't go above 184 so in this case it is better to keep 184 FSB and increase multi.

Tazon is right on, given that your your RAM is running at FSB speed, at a given processor speed, higher FSB speed (and, thus, lower multipliers) are faster.
thank you for the help I will run at lower clock and higher fsb..

yes, well the reason for higher fsb is because the fsb (or system bus) is the speed at which it communicates with other components in ur system (like ram) and if ur fsb is higher, u would get a better overall performance in ur system, just remember that always try to go for a higher fsb but only if ur ram can handle it, and when its the highest it can go, increase ur multi.
