(can't spend more than ~300)

Imo a 9800 nonpro stay away from the "se" ones

The 9800 non-Pro wasnt one his list (and rightfully so...they are nearly extinct other then a few retail stores).

From that list, i would say if you can afford the 9800 Pro, go for the 9800 Pro

can't go wrong with the 9800pro....
but if money is tight, then get the 9700pro.
you'll be happy with eather.

stay away from the FX cards....man they stink.

I really like the performance of the 9700 non pros based on the reviews and comparisons I've read. I'm tempted to get one. Their bang for the buck quotient is very high...

I'm surprised more people don't talk about them.

the 9700np is sooo hard to find.
even the 9700pro is hard to find.

Thanks for all the input, I decided I think I'll try the 9700 pro do some heatsink mods (puttilng a copper Althon xp 2100 hsf on it) and then over clock it a bit.
