View Full Version : To overclock or not to overclock.........please help......
i have 900mhz athalon on a asus kt133v board(best on the market) and i went into the bios and saw the settings were available to be changed. the fsb and the multiplier. now since im at 48c idle and 52c load(and my fan setup is more than adequate and im too broke to buy more fans for awhile) is it worth the risk to overclock it? howmuch temps increase would i get say if i made it 1.1ghz? whats a good "safe" zone? Im really reluctant to do this, seeing how i dont want to screw up my brand new cpu...but then again 200extra mhz is 200 extra mhz....

i am only at 1080...but my idle is 32C and load is 41C

there's saying amoungst water cooling tinkerers that goes " bicycle helmet and knee pads required" which basically means that if you can't afford to burn stuff up doin stupid crap , then youd better ask someone who knows, and do it right the first time

I have a tbird 900 and i have only changed the mutliplier to 100x10.5. I have not adjusted the voltage. I have not seen much more heat. I just ordered a millenium glaciator. I wonder how far i can push it?
You can go to the CPU data base that's on this forum and see how other's did with your chip, compare it with the one's that have the same code if you can. I checked it and the top oc was 1300 mhz. Good luck
