Hello All:
I am having some problems with my computer(I think it maybe due to the video card, however, it maybe something else). Here is my current setup:
-Epox Nforce2 Mobo
-9800 Pro (3.6 drivers)
-WD 80 GB SE Hard Drive
-AMD XP 2100+ (originally had it overclocked, however, put it to default settings for now)
-Crucial 3500 512MB

Here is my situation. I recently purchased MAX PAYNE 2. When I start playing the game, my computer freezes. Right when the game freezes, I hear a 'click' from my harddrive(as soon as it clicks, the game freezes). I can play other games just fine though....games such as CounterStrike and Halo. However, this occurred once when I was playing Halo but it never happened again.

Exactly what could be some of the possible problems? Could it be my power supply (450w enermax...probably 2 years old). Could it be the video card? I am DROOLing to play Max Payne!!! Can someone help? THanks!

It may be the game, try Reinstalling it, make sure that all the system requirements are met, and, if you used to have your CPU o/c'd then youmight need to raise your core voltage a little, i had the same problem with my old 8RDA when runnin 3dmark after i had been overclocking and then stopped. If that doesnt work, reinstall the Grpahics card, making sure to erase all the Cat drivers and problaby should reinstall DX9, if this doesnt work, then it might be the vidoe card. DOnt try the 3.8 cats, you dont wanna take the risk, but its your choice, and you might not havie enough cooling or proper venting.

Hope it helps

Are you overclocked at all? Also, make sure your video card is not right on top of another card. A lot of times the airflow can be restricted and cause instability.

if you are overclocked try lowering the speed a bit, reinstall the game(what i would do first), reinstall drivers.
