View Full Version : might be silly...
So i have a newer 1.2/266 and the L1 bridges are already closed. but the multiplier in BIOS is still greyed out...i have the dip switches to do it, its a newer version a7a, just wondering why i cant change them through bios cuz i dont wanna keep taking my case apart.

The factory when they do cut the L1 bridges do it with a laser and the break can be virtually invisible without a magnifying glass. My guess is that they are cut.
Do the jumpers work in changing the multiplyer?
You should be able to see if the L1 bridges are cut, it is done with a laser but it is visable, though check with a manginifying glass or something similar.
Have you tryed a newer bios version?

with the no10 dipswitch in the on position , the jumper set to jumpeer free&1004 or higher bios you can set multipliers and fsb in bios.I have only the 4 position switch so I put a piece of wire across no10&upgraded to1004&can adjust from bios. athlon1.2/266@1.33/266
i can change the multiplier with the jumpers, so i know my L1bridges are connected, but in jumper free mode, with no. 10 on, it wont let me change it in bios, i do have 1004 also. hmm...
im really just adding this reply to put this topic at the top of the list =) i really dont understand what the problem is here...

Hiya,
Copied these posts i did elsewhere, Have Fun with em, any Questions just post again..............
Move "JEN" to jumper
Set multiplier you want via dip switches (on mine i got 10 dips and #10 i put to on also #5 for my ram)
Power up
Boot into windows
Unplug pc don't go through shutdown sequence
Move "JEN" back to jumperless
Power up
Boot into bios
Hey presto the Multiplier you just set is there and now you got FSB to mess with

EDIT...... Just near AGP slot to the right as you look at it you will see a jumper, Default is 1-2 move it to 2-3 this is undocumented higher voltage we assume for DDR ram
Thought maybe helpful to others it sure helped my system be stable
Hiya,
OK you see the 1 2 3 4 dips on ya board, Now if you carry along where they are missing you should see spaces where 6 7 8 9 10 should be
Now missing Dip #5 is for type of ram sd/ddr
6 7 8 9 are for multiplier settings eg..10x = 6 on 7 off 8 off 9 off and dip #10 is ON for Manual Cpu ratio settings OFF for Disabled Manual settings
Now if you are decent at soldering you can get yourself a 10 switch dip block and remove your 1-4 block or you may be able to get a 6 switch block and carefully solder it next to your 1-4 block
Even without 5-10 dips you can do this........
Carefully solder a wire across what would be dip #10 to allow more setting choices
Hope this helps
Happy OC'ing

i found that i can change it, boot up, shutdown, and change it back to jumper mode and it works..dont need to unplug it. that isnt a very good idea anyway. so im goin alright now as you can see in my sig. thanks
