Read this: http://www.cluboc.net/reviews/cpu/amd/thunderbird_1400/page3.htm

This may explain why my 1333 AXIA Bird would do 1575 when new and is now stable at 1379 MHz. Also note I am on my second Enermax 651. The first one died with in two months.

It seems to reason that anyone having difficulties hitting higher speeds with one of the new faster CPUs should consider trying a different PSU.

Very interesting, and I was going to buy an Enermax supply this week! What other brands are good?

Thats most disturbing given i bought the 650 watt one just last week. Barely overclocking right now though. It will be the 15th of next month before i can afford to order from dangerden. Do have a 25amp 0-15v bench supply in the mail for the pelt though. I assume you werent trying to run one of the high watt ones on the enermax alongside other stuff where you?

I'll be needing AT LEAST 400 watts, I have a Athlon 900 (soon to be AXIA), Voodoo5 (likes its power), some fans (80x1, 92x1, 180x2), and the normal stuff. I'm going to be doing water soon, but that won't affect my power needs.

Hmmmm, my Enermax 431 is running along just fine in my system (see specs below) I can even run my 85 watt pelt on it along with all the other stuff I have.

Just curious, how long have you had it?

I have an Enermax 350W I just bought about 4 months ago and it works great, however it is now one of the newer units that they mention in that Update the 365P-VE. For any of you who haven't gone to that link they do site the newer Enermax power supplies are fine. I know my AVIA 1.133 @ 1.333 works great.

hope this helps.

Ed just sent me an email stating that Club Oveclocker has retracted their statement about Enermax PSUs.

I have been very happy with my Antec 400W PSU. "Rock of Gibraltar". One less thing to worry about.

Please go back to the site you reffered too. It has been updated Enermax is apparently approved. Also go to Enermax's website. I have a 650W unit although it is actually a 550W unit (650W just for peaks).

Castle lager fan - Thanks. I believe I already pointed this out. BTW, the 651 is rated at 530 watts continous.
