how do you know what stepping you get will they tell you ??
theres only AVIA and AXIA steppings on those CPU's I think, and both are great overclockers.

anyone know what stepping you'll get with the 1.4 or the 1.33 off tcwo.com ?????
you can do a pricewatch search with the stepping you want or you could call and ask. bzboys has AXIA Y for 8 bucks more!

The 1 gigers seem to do better than 1.2's, and they are only around 85-90 duckies. you do the math.
Yes some people like yourself are having great luck with the 1 gigers. But there are alot of people only running around 1.3 gigs with them! If you buy a 1.2 gig your pretty well gaurenteed to get between 1.4 to 1.5 gigs! Some are even getting over 1.6 gigs! So for 10 to 15 dollars I think it was worth going for the 1.2gig for myself.
I just bought an Asus A7A 266 & T-bird 1.2 gig for $252.00 shipped. thats not too bad I don't think.
I just ordered the 1.2 266 they would not check stepping but I got it for 101 so if it sucks I will sell it asap!
the 1gig is only 95 dollars shipped so if you need speed and have no money then go for it. I'll keep you posted what stepping it is.

I agree. Mine should be here this week. If it's an older stepping and wont overclock very good, I'll throw it up on Ebay. 1.2 gig T-birds are going for pretty good chang up there.
Go figure my Radeon 64 DDR was set to be delivered today. Well they rescheduled till tomorrow! ERRRRRR!!!! Thats the 3rd or 4th package in a row from UPS that they rescheduled on me now. I kept looking out the windows all night hoping to see a big brown truck. My wife was just laughing at me. LOL!

I had a similar experience today. I was waiting for 2 packages. I hear the doorbell ring and the guy has my package from Newegg. I signed for it and asked it he had another, he said I have 1 more wait here I will be right back. He got in his truck, drove away and never came back (*******). So I am still waiting for my 2cooltek order.

Well I will be waiting for the big brown truck for the next couple of days cuz i have ram, cpu, hsf, and case fans all ups all different companies! man I hope most of it comes today!
I ordered a 1.2 from tcwo.com at the end of May and it was AVIA but the next line started with a '9' rather than the preferred 'Y'. This chip will only do 1425 max at 1.95v and even then it fails prime95. I may drop back to 1377 at 1.85v to reduce heat and get better stability since it runs prime95 at 1377.
Just ordered it for $101 + tax + s/h. Also, I got the 1 year warranty on it with the purchase of a HSF - so I bought the Thermaltake Volcano II from them for an additional $18 that comes with a thermal pad. What are your guys thoughts on this? The Volcano II should be adequate, right? I'm not going for extreme OC but in the event that I get the urge, I might try for 1.3 GHz since that seems to be attainable without much effort. Will the Volcano II hold out at 1.3 GHz? Should I use the thermal pad that they send with it or go for some AS2 paste? Also, I'm getting a decent mid tower case with a front case fane and HDD cooler blowing in and PSU and 80mm fan blowing out back. Hopefully that rig will hold up. This all going on the IWILL KK266 mobo... What does this mobo have for thermal sensing? What type of case fans do I get in terms of 3 or 4-pin? What about the thermal sensor to attach to the HSF? Does the IWILL mobo come with that? Those of you who already have this mobo up and running, please help me out... Thanks.
