Im building my system for a friend, assembly went off with no problems. I usually dont mess with flashing a rom, but I went against my own words "If it ain't broke, don't mess with it." and went looking for an updated rom. I used a win 98 boot disk I use all the time for other systems. I changed floppys, the 2nd floppy containing 2 files AWDFLASH.exe (copied from the cd provided by the motherboard) and ak38s00h.exe, copied from shuttle.com's site. I backedup the old bios, and the flash went off with no problems. Upon reboot there is no post, no beeps, no video, nothing, just the silent whirl of fans and the cdrom
MOBO: Shuttle AK38N V1.1
PROC: Athlon 1800 tbred
RAM: Apacer 512 2700 DDR
VIDEO: Radeon 7000
HD: WD 40GB
Note:
All parts were purchased from Newegg. All new/OEM No refurbished parts. And this is not my system, if it was mine I would just suck it up.
Does the warrenty (if any) cover bad rom flash?
