While i was at work my daughter-n-laws little boy got in my computer room.He got ahold of my AXIA K TB1000 and tore one of the little pads.standoffs thats on the four corners of the cpu.I superglued it together but its kind of stiff now compared to the others.Could a razor blade be slid under one of those and it be cutoff even with cpu? Then glued on mine.Man i hope so!! I have never even used this cpu as i was waiting for my mobo to come which did arive same day this happen. Whats the verdict here am i srewed or can i make this work?

I suppose you could just get some other suitable plug to put on there. All that really does is keep the HSF level. So as long as it's the same height as all the other standoffs, you should be good.

I would recommend getting a non-conductive shim as a "backup" for the standoffs. THey cost about 15 bucks with shipping I think.

Then I would break your daughter's boyfriends' fingers with a hammer for messing with your rig. :)

E-mail me I have a dead TB 900, will mail it to you but may take a few days as I am in the UK. Will send you three, just incase I need one myself.
