i have spent a lot of money on my custom machine
and i seem to be getting heat problems.
i have an intake fan in front bottom,2 extraction fans next to hsf on the back
power unit has a fan blowing down on to cpu and i have put a fan above power unit as another extraction and a small fan on the bottom blowing up next to the intake.v core =1.78
cpu fan 4428-4500
cpu temp on boot=40-45
cpu after 2 mins= 35-40
cpu when online and playing games=45-52 !!!!
i have a lot of problems with the heat when playing games even 1 - 2 times os does not load
hangs a lot
and i get the old blue screen errors
when i turned it on the otherday i my cpu was at 81 c !!!!!
after reset it changed to th usual
i am buying a new hs and fan but do not know what to get...
i am not really interesyed at oc my cpu yet as i do not really need to but i just want my system to run alot cooler
oh my case temp is 24-28
i have resided to an office fan blowing in to my case but it's rather annoying to say the least.

thanks to any one who answers this...

Pick up a GlobalWin Fop32-1, its not to pricey, and good performance, but noisy as he*l

Yep, thats WAY to hot! 45-52C is OK, but not 81C !

I would get a FOP-38 or what I have, a WBK38.

You need a delta fan to keep the heat down. I had a FOP-32 and it was not enough. Go the www.heatsinkfactory.com and order a GlobalWin WBK38 (under Socket CPU Coolers/ GlobalWin) and order some Artic Silver 2 thermal Grease (under Thermal Materials).
This will keep your temps down to a respectful 35-45C.
Getting these 2-items will cost about $40, but well worth it!

Well a few suggestions come to mind:

1) your heatsink may not be fully in contact with the cpu die ... with the power turned off reach in and wiggle (carefully) the heatsink in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction ... if there is a lot of play in the heatsink I would recommend bending the clip slightly so that the heatsink sits firmer on the board ... be extremely careful when reattaching the heatsink or you WILL crush or chip the core

2) are you using any sort of thermal grease? if not ... START

3) you might want to look into lapping you heatsink

4) your intake fan may not be getting enough air ... try removing the front cover and tape closed all holes in the front of your case (except the grill in front of your fan) if that makes a big difference then your fan is not drawing enough air into the case - it may also be that the metal case grill may be restricting the air flow ... but the only way to figure that out is to cut the case and find out

Hope this helps!
