View Full Version : Building a New AMD System => Which CPU for the Most MHZ????
I'm building a new system from the ground up, and have a VapoChill, so cooling won't be a problem. I'm planning on a Abit KG7-Raid cus I like the specs.
Any help on what's the best Bang-4D-Buck on an AMD. I'm looking for MHZ here, price is not really a consideration.
TIA,
Doctor

Well then the 1.33 or the 1.4 has seen high numbers with proper cooling, more with the 1.33. I have also seen 1gigers go to 1.8 with Robin Leach like cooling. (Japan). So if you have money to burn, go for it and PLEASE post your results . We have had claims of ultra high numbers with Vapochill, but no hard evidence. Good Luck!!
Which Swiftech did u toss, I never had any luck with the MC370-0A myself, all the reviews said it was good, but my PAL6035 could beat it.

Model 462, did not do $80 worth of better cooling, I actually didn't toss it, I traded it to a buddy of mine for a new carb. for my waverunner. I have since ordered the Glaciator, I hope it works, This chip can post higher but with high temps. We'll see.
As I am eating breakfast (bacon, eggs, toast), Could I cook my next one on my CPU die? I think anything over 35c will not be stable enough for me.
For the best overclock go with the 1 Ghz AXIA, but i think a 1.33 AHYJA would prolly give the best overclcok. You could also wait for a higher speed Athlon MP but im not so sure about them. I havnt heard much about the 1.4, i bet its not any better than the 1.33 so i say go with that if money isnt an issue.
Thanx for the NFO guys!
Have you seen anything on the Abit KG7-Raid?
I've been looking for a review, but no luck yet. Do you think the IWill would be a better choice?
