Right now... my system is junk. Parents won't let me get a new computer so i just assume buy parts. But the system I have is just so hard to work with. I'd also like to try to overclock it. Heres what I have...
-It's an HP Pavilion 6350 with:
-AMD-K6-2 333mhz
-motherboard that came with comp. Dont know what kind
-64 mb SDRAM
-8gb Harddrive
and on-board video... sound... blah blah

Please... i really need some help. What should I buy... what brand... waht tips. Thank you so much. Feel free to email me also...

I was in basically the same situation as you. I wanted to buy parts to make my computer (it was a HP oem)fast and overclockable. I don't mean to disappoint you, but there is only one part from my old computer still functioning in my main rig: the network card. You'll definately need a new mobo, cpu (with aftermarket heatsink/fan), more memory, vid. card, sound card, power supply, maybe case. This all really adds up. Once you start buying, it becomes addictive, and you want the best everywhere. But if you have the money for an entire new computer, and gradually "upgrade" the old one over time, your parents probably won't see it as a new computer, especially if it's in the same case. The best way to do it is to um.....disable the system. Ya that's it! Oh mom, dad it doesn't work now! Guess we'll have to get another. BTW Hp is a nightmare to try to upgrade and not worth the greef or money.
