View Full Version : Any gamers in the Barrie Ontario area?
I have a house (south Barrie)100 amp service, a box of cat 5 and wouldn't mind a lil lan party sometime.
Limitations, I have only one 4 port router and need to game on my pc. Non limiting factors, speakers would be allowed.

I'm in Bradford (south of Barrie, near Newmarket) and I'd probably interested. There might be a couple issues with time and transportation for me considering I'm in college right now. But ya, I'd be interested in this. :) Wierd seeing a forum member so close to me.

I am from cookstown, I may be interested, timing would have to be perfect as i am currently in london(College student), however i do come home once every few weeks. So if we can set somethign up around my schedule i'd make a sloid effort to show.

im also in Toronto, and wouldnt mind a LAN PT, just dont know how were gonna play with more than 4 people, which is fun. I am also prepared to bring my router if needed.

And for games, Desert combat is good, even if we just play coop, Quake 3 Urban Terror, Ghost Recon, Raven Shield. Serious sam for some coop madness.

If I were done school I'd come right away. live in NB (no one her even knows what a PC is so no LPs for me). always been wantin to travel to Ontario again.

Will settle for four, but can accomodate 8 with ease I am sure, btw I cannot contribute to a minor but lets be honest here, I don't need to drink to have fun and it really does not matter to me the ages so long as its good fun

I'm in Midland,
and have a ride to barrie every day of the week if needed since my friend goes to Georgain.
You should get Delta Force 2 for a LAN game its dirt cheap, anyone could buy it for under 20 bucks, runs on all sorts of computers, and is not hard on the LAN.
for games my FPS selection is quite limited, BF1942 is kicking around someplace, Half Life/CS, Deltaforce 2, thats about it.
For RTS I have a much larger selection
EDIT: I'm 21, soon to be 22, have no problem bringing along a case of beer if need be for refeshments :D.
Will pm those who are on the thread maybe on the weekend, have to shut down for a day or two to transfer everything to my new acrylic case :)

I'm in Oni's boat: atleast 2 hours away by car... it's a bit far, idk. I'll have to chat with Oni, and check my schedule. Put me down as a "maybe" for now, I'll get back to you.

I just started a new job and I wont know if I can come until like 2 or 3 days in advance, but if I am able to attend I would like to, I have not done a LAN party out side of University ever

ok, im 98% sure that ill come. If i do (which i prolly will) ill bring a friend for sure. Just to let you know, dont want to bring my buddy and you not have enough space :) anyways, PM me a week or 2 B4 the actual event :D thanks
P.S.- You should make up a list, of what we need (ie. routers, switches, etc.) and everyone will sign up for what they can bring. Just an idea:o

There will be room, looks like a more than big enough network, and worse comes to worse you can sit on the floor, J/K

Have a 16 port switch, a server a router, and high speed internet. Just the hardware you need to operate and of course a network card. Bring some software if you don't think someone has what you have or like.
Food, you may want some food, or cash to order.

We will start final exam from Dec 11, so...

like new NVIDIA stuff or do you have old Gefore2 cards laying around as bribes LOL ;)
as it stands now I'm looking for a monitor to bring, my 21" weights as much as I do
some smaller stuff, but nope, no video cards
on a sadder note I was unable to have the lan 2k3 grills made as the new lazer couldn't do the smaller workload :(
Still waiting on other replies though, can only hope.

hmm, if you give my some blue prints my friends dad works in this huge laser cutting place, i forget what its called, but they made the (ugly :)) statues infront of the Air Canada Centre, and Queensway Cinemas here in TO :) so i guess theyre good :) plus, itll be free, so thats good too!
