Can you cool the GPU with vapochill?
I've seen overclocking over 550mhz of the core clock on a 9800p with vapochill... can you connect the compressor cooling to the core????

yes, it can be done.

here is an article on how to mount a prommy on a 9800:

On OCAU forums a guy is selling a vapochill classic which he modded including insulation to fit on either a GF4Ti or a 9700, 9800 Pro. It performs damn good, but you can have a case in use aswell as the compressor needs to be above the head.

I'd love to buy that vapo.
Can you give me the link?
Cheers!

You will not be able to see the FS thread unless you have been a member for 3 months or more. PM me if you want me to arrange something with him.

Okey General.

But really thanks man, grateful u would even arrange a deal with him and me for me.
Grateful indeed.
Cheers, bengan.

I'm not sure. Maybe he felt that the kind of people after that sort of specific info are into it enough to know what kind of results it would bring? I'm not sure.

In any case not many people, even in the overclocking community, would consider buying 2 phase change coolers for their computer.

Mainly 3DMarkers do. They are probably quite up to date on what cooling with what card gets what kind of results.

Or he's just lazy. :p

Here is a guide I wrote about improvised mounting of a promie or vapo on the A64, but I also included pics of my vapo cooled R9800pro and a template for the mounting plate.

BTW as long as the vapochill cooling head is lower than the highest point on the vacuum line where it returns into the compressor you wont have problems with start up. So it doesn't necessarly have to high or above the cooling head, I have mine set roughly the same height as my mb.

sweet!

looks like a smaller evaporator top than the stock Prommy evaporator, is it sized so that it just covers the entire GPU?

was this Prommy tuned for a low heat load but even lower temps than the stock prommy?

edit:

Doh! gotta look more carefully!

its a vpochill.. prommy is made by chip-con and vapo by astex or whatever.. the vapo's evap is a small cilinder just big enought to cover the cores on the cpu's.. really great design and alot easier to condensation proof
