While changing the heatsink and fan on my AMD 1.33 I lost one of the rubber pads off the top of the CPU. Anyone know where I can get one of these ? Does it have to be on there?

You should get a shim, a copper one at that. It will definitely help not crack the core. I wouldn't use one unless I could not get a replacement for those rubber feet. In your case I say use it unless you want to go get a new CPU. Just my suggestion...

Shims are garbage. Please don't screw up your CPU further by playing with one. I'm sorry, but this is poor advice on the part of those who'd tell you to get one.
I only suggested it so he doesn't crack his core. They are crap but I'd rather not crack that precious core.
