View Full Version : AMD Duron 750 problems!
Hello, Can someone please tell me why every time i overclock my AMD Duron 750 by lifting the multplier the system wony boot (The monitor doesnt start but the fan mobo and hd seem to be workin). I cant even put the multplier down or the system wont boot. Ive tried doing this on the motherboard with the jumpers and dip switches and in the BIOS. I do Raise the Vcore voltage and i have unlocked my cpu with a pencil, twice (could it that the lead isnt conductive enough? I used a pacer HB).
Here are my specs:
AMD Duron 750mhz
256MB PC-150 Kingmax
Asus A7v133
Fob38 heatsink
250watt psu
6 Gig HD
1xCase fan
Tnt2 M64 (pci)
SBlive Value

Welcome to the forums
well it could be the pencil trick , when I used a pencil it wore off in a matter of days so if only one mark wore off and you adjusted the multipliers then it may have set its self to 12X or better , if I were you I would try a rear window defoger repair kit or a conductive pen , also do you have your processors code , if so I have a link to tell you what you can expect from it.

try doing the pencil trick again with a mechanical pencil 0.5mm and some 4B lead..that's waht i used, 3 month and still workin
Thanks for that I dont have the cpus code (is that on the cpu itself?) I will try the rear window defoger kit.
Ohh and when i change the cpu frq. on the mobo with the dip switches it doesnt make a differance.
you might have it in jumperless mode
is there a switch to change it from jumperfree to mode? cuz i thought all i had to do is change all the dip switched to whateva the cpu is and then overclock via the mobo
You don't say how much you are oc'ing by but looking at the info supplied you may need to get a bigger power supply. I don't think that 250W is going to give you much to play with.
yeah i thought of that 2 but it cant be since even when i underclock it it wont work and i disconnect my fans and cdrom and it still didnt wanna underclock or overclock

Yes it is located 2 1/2" or so off the end of pci slot 4 next to the the voltage monitor chip called jen you want to jump pins 1 and 2, Hope this helps.
