I would definitely upgrade the PSU; a good name brand is more often then not alot better then generic. On the issue of power consumption, the P4's use mostly the 12V line while the AMD's use mostly the 5V line. In any case, I would suggest the ThermalTake Silent PurePower 420 from AccuPC (http://www.accupc.com/itemDetail.jsp?pid=psttw0008r&refer=PriceGrabber). Excellent quality, ample output, and even Active Power Factor Correction (http://www.endpcnoise.com/cgi-bin/e/pfc.html); all for 60 bucks, :)

best quality for that price should be the fortron 530, comes with shiny nickel plating, pretty
