I just replaced my Albatron Ti4680P Turbo video card (Ti4200) in my IC7-G rig with an Asus 9480TVD video card (Ti4800SE). I thought that the Asus card might overclock better, and based on initial test results it does.

Anyway, I ran 3dmark01 last night with the new card and the FPS for all of the tests looked about right, except for Drag HI which was very low. The Drag HI test did not "freeze" or lockup. What would cause this one test to be so low? I have done all of the standard stuff: 3D LOD = 4, Vsync = off, FOG turned off, 3dmark program set to "realtime" in windows, etc.

The following results are using the same CPU, mobo, and memory, with all of these running at the same speed for both tests. The only difference that I know of is the video card. I uninstalled the old video card in W2K, shutdown the computer, swapped the video cards, booted up, and installed the new video card drivers (42.01).

Computer setup:
IC7-G, 2.4C @ 3.6GHz, 2*256MB memory at 200MHz 2-2-2-5
The Albatron memory speed was 675 MHz, while the Asus memory speed was 702 MHz. The GPU speed is shown in (xxx) in the following table.

(edit) - I'm not sure of the exact setting in RivaTuner that solved the problem with the Drag Hi test, but I solved it by installing the "42.30a OMEGA" drivers. See the updated FPS data below:

Test ............ Albatron ............. Asus ............ Asus w/Omega
Car Lo ....... 267.2 (341) ...... 260.2 (333) ..... 266.3 (333)
Car Hi ........ 109.4 (329) ...... 108.7 (329) ..... 108.0 (329)
Drag Lo .... 283.4 (341) ...... 292.4 (333) ...... 292.7 (333)
Drag Hi ..... 160.2 (329) ...... 147.4 (329) ...... 160.4 (329) ** YEAH !!
Lob Lo ...... 260.7 (341) ...... 261.9 (333) ...... 264.3 (333)
Lob Hi ....... 125.9 (341) ...... 125.6 (333) ...... 123.1 (333)
Nature ........ 99.3 (341) ........ 95.0 (333) ...... 101.3 (333) ** YEAH !!

I solved the problem with my Drag HI score being so low. I decided to take out the Asus video card and re-install the Albatron card. I then ran 3dmark01 and my Drag HI score dropped from the previous 160.2 to 147.5. After trying a lot of different settings in RivaTuner, I decided to reinstall one of the Omega drivers (which is suppose to tweak some of the settings for you). I reran 3dmark01 and my Drag HI scrore improved to 159.8 FPS. I then re-installed the Asus card using the Omega drivers, and my Drag HI score improved to 160.4 !!!!

I then reran 3dmark01 increasing my GPU overclock as much as I could, and scored a new high of 18,145 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7149476). That is an improvement of 135 points over my best score with the Albatron card, and I have not even volt-mod the Asus card yet.

I would recommend that everyone at least try installing one of the Omega drivers with their nVidia video card. It improved my score by 410 points, your mileage my vary.

What memory is that that ur using to achieve a FSB of 299mhz!??!

I have Corsair XMS PC3200 LL memory, but it is only running at 200 MHz because I have the FSB:memory ratio set to 3:2. Unfortunately, my memory cannot handle 240 MHz, so I cannot use the 5:4 ratio.
