Sorry about another Thread on 3dmark.

I just built my new computer. I though Id be getting scores in the 5000's Our low 4000's But Im getting 2.5k?

My computer is in my profile. A 9600 PRO 256mb is on the way Couldnt wait for father to drive me.

Check your score online with other rigs. But i do know My brothers Rig with a p4 2.0 gets 6000 in 01 with an MX440. So i dont know. BTW he doesnt game much, hence the crappy card.

sounds about right, a all a gf4mx420 is a gf2 mx400 renamed. Both have exact same specs. And i get like 2558 on my 1800+ and gf2(sis rig). GF4 mx440 has 6.4GB/s mem bandwith which is more then twice what the gf4mx420 has, 2.7GB/s. mem bandwith is what counts when using gf2/gf4mx hardware.

your sig says you have the barton at 200fsb, but you also say you have cheap ram, are you running the ram async? is that vid card agp or pci? im curious becuase my secondary system has a lesser motherboard, lower clockspeed, lower fsb, and a tbred rather than a barton, and with the vid card overclocked, i can break 5k with a gf4mx420 agp card

I just made auto settings to 3200+ speeds. And it changed everything for me.. to lazy to do it on my own.

no wonder. the pci ones are so slow, I tried a pci one and the agp one spanks it badly and in games too. If you want more performance, agp obviously is the way to go

Yuh lol, My 9600 is coming on monday! Ill tell you guys how it does then.

And uhh, The more expensive the card the better? Mines a Built by ati 9600 PRO 256mb. Dont know how good that will be.

what settings are you guys running on? here are my scores:

lowest settings: 18,800 (forgot last2 digits)
default settings: 13,869
maximum setting: 7,995 (1280x1024 3bbit)

Running my 2500+ at 200x10.5 scored 8255 at default settings with my radeon 9000pro...

btw that was my first experience with 3dmark, and wow is that stuff nice looking!!! The nature demo is pretty crazy and so is that one with the chick riding the dragon!

The one strange thing I noticed is that EVERY demo ran smoothly and 1 ran patheticly slow, the 8-light high texture one :o

BTW I have DX9 installed and I just read on another post that it can rob a bit from the totals
