ICH4 mobo system fan

Hello, my first post here

I have a noisy, vibrating (it seems) system fan that is working normally on a Gigabyte 8IHXP mobo.

I've removed the cable to confirm the problem, a quiet system without it. On the reconnection I checked the screws were tight and the two clips were firmly in place

Does anybody have any advice on what would be a good step, aside from a new fan?

Just for your info, have had to remove the fan, no luck replacing it. 10-deg increase in system temp. when playing a laid back game...
