Ive just started folding, i installed and changed my name. FAH3console.exe opened up, downloaded some stuff and now nothing is happeneing. My question is : Is it just not showing me my pgress or did i forget to do something for it to continue?

the console takes until the first frame is complete to show any progress. this can be 4 minutes or it could be half an hour depending on your cpu and which work unit you are working on.

make sure to add the -advmethods and -forceasm tags on the shortcut. this will drastically increase your production. if you have a tbred b processor you will need to upgrade to 3.25 beta client in order to run with those flags properly.

How long have you been waiting for it to display something?

Are you using the graphical or console client?

If your running the console client, wait anywhere from 5-30 minutes and see if a new text line such as....

Pops up, if so then its still doing something.

For graphical client, you can just wait that time and see if the frames number on the side changes.

But the easiest way to see it (for some reason I didn't think of this while righting the other two) is just go to into the task manager, (if your in win2k/xp) then go to processes, and find FahCore_XX.exe where there is XX there can be 78 or 65 or even Ca (78 is gromacs, 65 is tinkers, and Ca is genomes :eek: ) Next to whatever core name there is, it should be using the CPU, for me it says 99 becuase I barely run anything else.

If your in win9x (98, 98se, ME, and also 95 **shudders** ) you can see if the process FahCore_XX.exe is running. You can get something to monitor the CPU usage...I think there is one on www.em-dc.com , which happens to also make EM3, another monitoring program for F@H (on whatever os you want)

Thx, ok i got it workin its running and shows FRAMES that are done, sweet. New problem thou, i check my task manager to see the CPU usage and it shows : FAHcore_78.exe using about 50 and FAHcore_65.exe using about 50... no i thought i didnt want 78 AND 65 going? or do i? lol. Ive tryed shutting it donw then reopening but it does the same thing. Any idea;s?
