Ok guys. I'm not very well versed in overclocking but here's my rig and I'm hoping you can tell me how to make all the parts in it run fast and reliable (so I don't have to buy new ones :P). Ok here goes:
Tbird 1.333Ghz @ 1.333
ASUS A7A266 Motherboard (haven't changed anything on it)
256MB PC133 RAM
Elsa Gladiac GeForce 2 Ultra (also unchanged with latest nvidia det. drivers)
20GB Ultra ATA 7200RPM HD
SB Live Value

Ok thanks for all your help.

Also I have a ThermalTake suber orb fan on the processor and 1 Case fan. Is this enough cooling or do I need more (and what kind if yes)?

First off lose the Orb, it will not cool a 1.33 if you decide to overclock. Here is a review of a group of new efficient HSF's;

As far as overclocking the Asus A7A266, here is an Aussie O/C guide:

Good Luck.

If i decide to o/c the processor should i change the multiplier of the FSB? And what speed could I obtain and what is the max safe temperature for the mobo and proc?
thanks

you can up the FSB, but you are at 133 right now. Play with your multi to overclock. Definately ditch that orb, its not great even for a normal cpu. Get at least a Thermoengine or preferable an SK6 or Glaciator.

The review cited uses a socket thermistor even though they have a Palomino and a Tyan motherboard that can read it. Until someone starts using this method, I'll take Joe's here at Overclockers.com as the socket thermistor is not used.

IMHO the orbs are ok for T-Birds <1 Gig. For your CPU I would a recommend the gladiator HS. It performs very well and is also relatively quiet.

bzkt: does your motherboard have 4 or 10 dip switches?

the model with 4 is lousy for overclocking (or so i've read). the model with 10 lets you change your multiplier quickly and easily

i have the model with 10, and if you turn different switches on and off (it's in the manual add-on) you can change the multiplier (if you unlocked your CPU)

if ya need any help, give me a message or shoot me an email(i have about the same setup as u)

as far as know you cant do anything with soundblaster or the hardrive but if you have soft menu III you can change your fsb rating in the first choice
