Iam running a k6-2 500 in a Soyo 5EMA Pro Board. I am a newbie at overclocking. Can someone suggest the proper settings?

really instead of jumping straight into it you should probably just read around in this site for a little while and do all the learning you can , check out tips and tricks on the front page ,

You should also thoroughly check your manual to see if it talks about oc'ing and any jumpers/bios settings you could use.
good luck

The K62 Line weren't strong overclockers. I had a K62-400 that would barely do 420, and a K62-550 that would barely do 560. My advice would be to get a Duron (read CHEAP) and play with it. See my sig for what to expect.

Iīve got a K62 400 that runs perfectly happy at 450, and at 500 until i do a cpuburn, altho I can play Q3 or UT without any probs. and all aircooled. So it might be worth trying and playing around with. but as stated above, you would seem far better results from a duron, for a very low price.

I have a k6 3 450 @ 550 with 2.6 volts on an asus p5a. I dont know the dif between k6 3 or k6 2. Let me tell ya 100 mhz's dont do very much, but it's still fun doin it :).

I never got my K6III 450 over 500 stable. But I dont use a high quality HS as it is only my secondary rig, and I donīt have any money to spend on it.
By the way, there are a few good newbie guides on this site. They should tell you the overclocking basics.
