Hi!

Just curious... As far as I know, there is no price difference between a CPU having AXIA or AYHJA batch code and one that does not, right? So.... whether or not you want to o/c, and whether or not money is an issue, wouldn't everybody want a CPU with these kind of codes- either retail or OEM? I would think that anybody would like the extra option open (o/c'ing), especially if It doesn't cost extra! All things being equal, even if I didn't own any cd's (god forbid) I would rather buy the car with the cd player that comes for free than one that does not--- just to have the option. Am I missing something?

An ordinary vendor has no interest in ocing or ocers, and will sell AXIAs and AYHJAs at the same prices as equivalently rated chips. After all to them, a 1.3 is a 1.3 is a 1.3, no matter what the code on it. However, if you buy, say, a 1.1gig tbird, there may be some which do not have the AXIA code, and so if you buy from a vendor that does not discriminate you may not get an AXIA. An ocing store will likely list AXIAs and AYHJAs separately from other chips, and charge a little bit more for the assurance that you are getting one of these 'special' chips.
