I like the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. I've had too many problems with Creatives bloated drivers/software.

I've had too many problems with the Santa Cruz. I needed a new sound card, so i got that one. Brought it home, and installed it. Music sounded terrible, and GTA3 was not much better. Returned it for an Audigy 2, and I have crystal clear sound now.

Thats why i use Windows drivers :) Creative is the industry "standard", so Windows builds good driver support for them. and not some generic stuff, heh.

I would like to say Audigy2 but since a simple sound card was asked I'm sure that a SB live 5.1 would do the job. It's simple, cheap and not chewing up too much CPU power).
The downside of SB live may be that some guys observe problems with this card when OC their system to the extreme.(I'm one of them and my SB live fried, but it was probably just an unfortunate exception)

No worries Evnas, lots of BB have been sold out of audigy 2's since that "deal" started.
