View Full Version : need some help reaching 1.5
If youve read any of my other posts, youll see im stuck at 1439 mhz. with 1.85V (although pcprobe says about 1.94) i can only get 10x143. this is my first overclock and all i wanted was 1.5 with a 150 fsb. heat shouldnt be a problem, but as i am still new at this, i dont know what else it could be. any ideas would be appreciated.

What type of memory you have, like settings? I am not sure if you are a gamer, but some people sacrifice their memory speeds to get a good O/C by setting their ram to cas-3. This has been known to get a bit better fsb, but slows down memory speed. Is your southbridge getting hot? Vantec makes a nice chipset cooler. what changes have you tried lately?

What are ur temp's?
i have crucial memory with cas 2.5. i dont see why people would slow down their memory to get a better fsb, thought the point was to make your system faster, anyway..i cant set mine to 3, bios only allows 2 or 2.5. right now im at 1406 and get temps about 45 idle/50 load, thats calculated with radiate, pcprobe says its alot higher but i dont trust it. the reason i dont think its because of heat is that windows wont boot at all. i would think windows would load, but then crash after awhile if it was too hot, because it takes some time for things to heat up.
plague, do you know what the first letter/number is on the line below AXIA on your CPU? If its a 'Y' you should expect more. If its something different like a '9' then you chip might be maxed out. My AVIA-9 maxes out at 1425. Other 9's seem to max out around that speed also.
If u don't trust PC Probe u can use bios. What are ur temps in bios?
Also are u using AS2?
ya i think i am just maxed out, i just didnt wanna believe it...i have an AXIA "9". heh, pc probe just flashed up on my screen and said my cpu was 117C, but then back to "54C" a second later. silly...anyway, thanx for the ideas, guess thats just all i can get out of it.
