I was at Circuit City today checking to see if they still had any 9800NP's left (3 left :)) Anywho, I noticed that they still had one 9500 Pro on display at about $200. This card can be modded to the 9700 Pro correct? How is it's DX9 performance compare to other cards? If I hear good things, I think I'm gonna go back and get it

9500 pro cannot be modded into a 9700. As for the price, $20 extra will get you a 9700 or even better you can get a 9800np for a little more online.
9500-128bits with 8 pixel piplines.
9700-9800-256bits with 8 pixel piplines.

The 9500 np is what can be modded into a 9700. A 9500 np has the 256 bit memory interface, but is supposed to have only 4 pipelines. The other 4 pipelines are there, and can be opened up by flashing the bios or using a certain hacked driver, but is not always successful.

only the red pcb versions of the 9500np had 256bit memory interface. but it was never official just somthing that was stumbled upon.
according to a lot of rummors floating around the forums, 9800se's (which have 4pipe lines) can be converted to 9800nps by a special driver hack.
