Finally got to 990 with temp @ 48.7 seems stable so far.
? can only run one stick of 133 pci ram 128 mg each. When I add the second stick I get windows memory error and won't load windows. Any ideas swapping ram both work.

my rig
Temp now 48.7c full load standard hsf/thermal paste
Two Fans On intake / one exhaust
900 mz Athlon T BIRD – overclocked 990mz
GA-7ZX Motherboard latest bios update
256 mg ram 133
13 g Western D hard drive
Plextor writer 16/10/40A
Toshiba DVD
ATI 2000 Expert 32 mg Video card
300 w power supply

13oots
I can't get past this mark , thanks for the help thinking about buying one 256 mg stick and see what happens. I found that with both sticks installed @ 900Mhz runs slower.

Are the RAM sticks the same brand? Maybe myth, but I've heard and read that different brands may not 'like' each other and that same-brand modules are generally a safe way to go.

Thats a rumour about different brands of ram. No more likely that your pushing the settings too far. You may only be running at 110fsb but heres what could have happened...

1...You could have your ram running at HST+PCICLK in bios, meaning that even at 100FSB you are running at 133FSB. This affectively means that once you add the fsb to that you will be running your ram at 146.66Mhz. That is waaaay past the PC133 spec.

2...You could have your ram timings too high. Some ram dont mind running at CAS-2 settings if at 133fsb. But generic stuff normally only does CAS-2 at 100FSB. Take the CAS back upto 2.

3...You could have other ram timings too high. Some ram do not like traffic and faster fsbs. You could have settings like 4-interleave and Turbo timings on. Experiment with taking these on and off in combos and see what happens.

On the other hand it could just be that your motherboard doesn't cope too well with multiple sticks. But i doubt that.
