if you have blank pci slots under ur video this is a easy way to cool ur video it lowered my gpu temps by 10-15 C under load.

alright take out the slot blanks so they are open( i took out 3), get a fan 92mm or 80mm ( i used 80, couldnt fit 92). i moved my sound card down to the last slot on the bottem and the fan rests on the card and it is also held up by cable ties around the blank slots through one of the screw holes on the fan

here is a lil sketch because my digital camera broke :(

its like that but with more of an angle
arrows repersent airflow

also i cut 3 pieces of clear plastic the flimsy stuff (one for each side of the fan excluding the bottem cause its on the sound card) and put it behind the fan like a mini duct i guess connecting the back of the fan to the pci blanks so it gets as much fresh air as possible

this combined with the fan on the side of my case my gpu temps are low!

before: 45 idle and 77-80 load
after this 'mod': 42 C idle and 62-66 C load

hope this will help you out like it did for me

That's a good idea. Perhaps I'll try this later. How did you get it at an angle though?

yea kinda sept lose the blank that has the cable ties on it and put the ties around the back of the case where the blank would normally go. and it looks like that fan is sucking air from the video, you want it to blow onto the video for maximum performance

i got the angle by sticking the top back 2 screw holes of the fan out the top pci blank slot and tieing them there with the cable ties

The Zalman bracket works very nicely for this also. You need to do a little bending an twisting.

Sweet! Thanks for the tip...i was wondering what i should do...i already have a fan on the side of my case on top of my cpu, and i was thinking of putting another fan below it for video card cooling, but your idea sounds way better...or maybe i should do both...do you think that this would cause problems due to the airflow that would kinda push the other air another way?

Look what i did a while back ago.

It didn't work well for me so i removed it. Oh well. My temps increased by i dont remember how much.

i have a fan over my video card on the side. listen to this, i took the fan out to see what temps were like, they were about 5 C higher without the fan on the side. i put the side fan back in, and they drop 5 C. and just recently i made a baffel on the side fan angled down to the edge of the video card and that droped my temps again about 5 C. so i would suggest useing both fans.

i personally would test this mod before you cut out another hole in the side, u might be suprised how much your temp drops and u might not need any more cooling if you are satisfied with it.

edit:
Look what i did a while back ago.

well, that looks great sept for 1 thing i can spot. it looks like that fan is too close to the gpu, and is actually restricting airflow. it would work better if it were set lower about a half inch or so.

A bit of Mechano makes for some good braces for an application such as this :)
