So I just pieced my first custom computer together. I am totally new to the whole PC building thing but have allways loved to put things together. So after some saving of money I bought all the things I needed. I bought the athlon 2400 xp along with the ABIT NF7-s Motherboard. Right now im running stock everything. The Bois I have are really nice, I was looking through all of it and they are extreamly easy to change. I belive the BIOS are called Phoenix. What are the easiest way to do some over clocking. I have 3 case fans and the stock heatsink fan all hooked up to a fan controller so for now cooling is not a problem. Thanks for any help you could give me!

You can start using your stock heat sink to start overclocking. It should get you to 2100-2200 MHz at around 50 C, with 1.65-1.70 Vcore.
If you have PC3200 memory, the FSB should at least do 200 MHz.
What memory do you have?
In the long run, try to get a copper SLK-947U (~ $32) with a 92 mm adjustable fan. You will either achieve highest overclocking and benchmarking for that CPU on air, or lowest temperature for 24/7 running. If you want to save some money, get the SK7 (~$20) w/ a TT SFII fan ($10).
These two HSF's should get you 300 MHz higher, with enough higher Vcore.
In case you have not come across them, look at

just up the fsb abit intill it becomes unstable then up the vcore by 0.25 but keep an eye on them temps

Im newer too and I did what steven explained and it got me what my sig says. Ive gone higher but its to hot and wont run stable when i drop the vcore to lower the heat so I just stay at almost 2.3Ghz.

So when you up the FSB and what not should i save my bios exit and try to use the computer normaly, and use a bench mark program to test it? or is there a way to tell its becoming unstable in bios?

yes save it and exit the bios boot into windows stress test it with prime95 after thats been running for 2hours stop it and then overclock some more do the same intill your happy or part off your comp is limting the overclock also keep an eye on the temps while stressing the cpu dont let it go above 55C
after your happy or whatever run some benchmarks :)

hoho. hi there. yeah run some benchmark tools to test the system:
Prime95 is best for cpu testing do the torture test!
3dmark2003 in a loop is also a great test
sisoft sandra is burn in wizard (only use the cpu and memory tsts) is also great for testing the whole system.
let prime run for at least 2 3 hours.
oh and befor you OC check you system for stability with the above program. run sanda burn in wizard in a loop and let 3dmark run at the same time. you wanna be mean to your machine. if it runs though the night ur system is stabel.
mine is (and it has done faw worse benchmarking and torture test then what mentioned above)
