Howdy everybody.....
Well, my second attempt at unlocking the bridges has been successful.......I set the multiplier to 7.5 (on a duron 800) and left the FSB at 100/33

Sisoft promplty reported that my cpu was running at 750 mhz......YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!! (pencil trick BTW)

Anyways........(hold on, beer time)

Ok, Im back........BEFORE the unlock process...I could change the FSB (read this CAREFULLY) on the CHIP ONLY.....(abit kt7a board ALLOWS this)
to a multiple of 19.......19x8= 152.....152+800=952...

I could NEVER get it above that,,,even with 1.85v and a 3.9 IO.....tried lower also....3.8 and 3.7 ....would not post.......

From everything I have read about my duron, it SHOULD hit 1000mhz fairly easy. I have the stepping codes that SHOULD post the highest #'s......(I double checked) Right now I am at a multiple of 9.5x100/33
and Sisoft says I'm at 950mhz......cool.....point is my heat from MOBO monitor says 35c and around 45c full load......so heat is not the problem.....also have 300w power supply......

I should be able to hit 1000mhz.....but how?
You guys plug some #'s for me......what should I change or try next? thanks

Huh? Chip only? I think I missed something. I have a KT7A-RAID. What mine can do is change the FSB to one on the list and then I can up the FSB one MHz at a time, up to 28. If you have a KT7A and a -C chip then you should start at FSB 133/33.

133*8=1064MHz

Providing the Level 1 bridges are unlocked you should be able to change the multiplier and the fsb of the CPU.
Most Duron 800's can hit 1 ghz in a variety of ways, but most require a voltage increase to 1.8 v.. ( 10 x 100 ) multiplier x FSB and this is the option people with 100 mhz ram should take.
I personally prefer a higher FSB which overclocks your complete system, but in order to do this you need high 133 mhz ram ( 7.5 x 133 ).
Remember :- Not all CPU's are created equal and just because a lot of people can make 1000 mhz on a Duron 800 does not mean that you will be able to, You must have a good hsf and airflow around your case for a start.

If you tell us more about your system then we may be able to give you better advice
