Need help with puter problem

When I turn on the computer nothing shows up on the monitor, you can tell the computer is booting up cause the windows sound thing plays. I've tried dif monitors and stuff. The video plug on the back of the comp looks fine. I dunno what else I can try, since the computer doesn't have an agp slot and i don' have a pci vid card i can't test to see if that works. Anyone have any suggestions?

Make sure the monitor works, first (plug it into something else).

If the monitor checks out, then most likely it's a bad video card, but you need to find another one that you can swap out with it to be sure.
