Hey all.
I finally got around to upgrading from my old P3 tualatin system.
Got a P4 2.4C and the P4P800 mb last week.
Been running ok, but the cheesy generic 512mb PC3200
chip I got dont like running much over 210fsb at the 1:1 setting.
So today I got all crazy and set the mem to 5:4 ratio and
cranked up the fsb to 245 so my CPU was at 2940mhz and
the memory at 196 2.5-2-2-6.
Left CPU volts at default, and put mem at 2.65.
Seems to be fine with that. Passed Memtest86 fine, and
seems ok in windows. (98SE)
Idle temps according to the Asus probe about 33c and only
47c full load running prime95.
Am I risking that Northwood sudden death syndrome with
these speeds or am I ok since it is doing it at default core
voltage ? (1.568v according to the probe...)
I turned it back down to 1:1 at 200mhz cause I got scardt...
